A lot has changed in Naruto over the years, and the series’ second instalment is still trying to figure out where the line is between life and death. Even though Boruto: Naruto Next Generations regularly puts its protagonists in peril, just a few ninjas have perished as a result. Those that follow the anime, on the other hand, realise that this week was a turning point.
The latest episode of Boruto aired recently, and fans were treated to some good news in an explanation to a major cliffhanger. After Funamushi impaled Kagura on a mission in the Land of Mist, the show returned to the boy’s story. In the course of a mission with Kagura, Boruto has come to regard the boy as one of his closest companions. After Kagura’s injury, fans were anxious to learn more about her recovery.
It turns out that Kagura’s fatal wound wasn’t a ruse to fool the audience. Despite Sarada’s best efforts to heal Boruto, Boruto can defeat Funamushi with Karma. During his final moments, Kagura thanked all of his friends and the swordsmen who helped him, especially Hebiichigo. Kagura has one last request for Boruto after assuring the criminals they will be liberated at the end of the mission. As soon as Boruto and his comrades know what the hero’s final request is, the kid lets himself die.
Because shonen shows like Naruto are known for faking death, Kagura decided to avoid the bait-and-switch. Kagura’s death has left Boruto and the rest of Team 7 with a lot of grief, but it will also motivate them in the future.
