On screens on December 31, 2021 on Netflix, season 4 of Cobra Kai did not end idyllically for Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) and Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio). After attempting to join forces, the two rivals lost the Valley Tournament to the Cobra Kai Dojo, led by the formidable John Kreese (Martin Kove) and Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith).
Terry Silver actually cheated to win. To finish imposing his cruelty, Silver betrays Kreese and manages to have him arrested. On his side, Miguel (Xolo Maridueña) leaves the tournament in a hurry to go to Mexico to find his father. After reconciling with his son Robby (Tanner Buchanan), Johnny goes to look for him. During their stay, they will apparently have to fight, as revealed in the first images of the fifth season.
At the same time, Terry Silver has the ambition to found a real Cobra Kai empire after having crushed the competition, opening dojos in all of the San Fernando Valley. Nevertheless, Daniel LaRusso intends to “cut the head off the snake” with the help of Chozen (Yuji Okumoto). Finally, Tory (Peyton List) seems to have some guilt about not winning the tournament fair and square…
All the main characters are back in this first preview of season 5 of the series, except John Kreese. But Johnny’s former master will be present, as his interpreter recently announced in his podcast Kicking It With The Koves. Fans will have to wait a few more months before discovering the continuation of the program derived from the saga Karate Kid. These new episodes of Cobra Kai will be available from September 9, 2022, on Netflix.
