The second season of To Your Eternity will air later this year, and the first trailer has been released! The anime adaptations of Yoshitoki Oima’s manga were among the most popular last year, as they introduced viewers to a new subgenre of fantasy. While it was announced that a second season was in the works right after the end of the first one, few glimpses have been given on the progress of the new episodes. The reason is quite complex, actually.
To Your Eternity season, 2 is currently scheduled to return in the fall, but there will be some significant changes in the production. The first trailer for the new episodes revealed that a new studio will produce them. Drive, the studio behind such series as Vlad Love and Uzumaki, currently in production, will handle the second season instead of Brain’s Base, as was the case with the first season.
There is a new studio and a new director, with Kiyoko Sayama (who previously worked on Vampire Knight) taking over this time. In addition to Shinzo Fujita, who will be in charge of the scripts, Koji Yabuno as character designer, Ryo Kawasaki as a music composer, and Takeshi Takadera as sound director, the rest of the general team from the first season will be back. If you missed the first season of To Your Eternity, you can now listen to it in its entirety on Crunchyroll in both Japanese and English versions.
Officially, To Your Eternity is called. “In the beginning, on Earth, an orb falls to the ground. It transforms into the shape of the thing it is stimulated by and comes back to life after death. It can do both. He changes from an orb to a rock, then to a wolf, and finally to a young boy, but he behaves as if he were just a baby. Fushi is the name given to “it” when a child is born. Fushi learns not only to survive but also to develop as a person through human kindness. Fokker, the mysterious and destructive enemy he encounters, as well as painful separations from the people he loves, cloud his journey.”
