Neeraj Pandey’s directed venture is a well-executed and brilliantly made with gripping script movie that should be applauded a lot. A heist thriller that has been in talk stars Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee and Anupam Kher in main leads. Neeraj, the creative man, who made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed and award-winning movie ‘A Wednesday’, returns this time with another movie on real life incident.
Special 26 (also known as Special Chabbis) is a 2013 Indian Hindi-language heist film written and directed by Neeraj Pandey and produced by Shital Bhatia under Friday Filmworks and Kumar Mangat Pathak under Wide Frame Pictures in association with Viacom18 Motion Pictures. It is based on the 1987 Opera House heist where a group posing as CBI officers executed an income tax raid on the jeweler in Bombay (present-day Mumbai). It stars an ensemble cast of Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee, Kajal Aggarwal, Jimmy Sheirgill, Anupam Kher and Divya Dutta in lead roles.
