In the late 1980s, Tim Burton brought his second feature film to theaters: Beetlejuice. With an aesthetic that clearly bears the mark of its director, the film centers on Adam and Barbara Maitland, a couple of ghosts who observe the new inhabitants of their house until they decide to dislodge them. When they realize that all their efforts to do so are in vain, they seek the help of the bio-exorcist known as Beetlejuice.
After 35 years, Tim Burton has decided to return to the same universe. For, he is currently preparing his sequel. For now, we know nothing about the plot of Beetlejuice 2. But many members of the cast have been made official. We already know that Michael Keaton and Winyna Ryder will play Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz respectively.
The star, Catherine O’Hara will also be among the actresses to return. On the incoming side, Jenna Ortega will play one of the main characters, while Justin Theroux will take on an unknown role for the moment. And a new face has just joined them.
The Hollywood Reporter, announces that Monica Bellucci will also be part of it. Unlike Theroux, we know which character she will play. If her name is not yet known, the media assures that the Italian actress will slip into the skin of the wife of Beetlejuice. Burton will introduce us to the woman who shares the life of the character played by Michael Keaton in this sequel.
Beetlejuice 2 already has a release date, as Warner Bros. revealed that the film will arrive in U.S. theaters on September 6, 2024.
